Forever In Your Eyes
For thirty years our bond has held
old strands becoming frayed
resisting tension, threads that swelled
each rainstorm our love made.
visions we had early on
expecting mighty things
replaced with what we built upon
in age's tempered rings.
no need now for wild promises
you put to bed our vows
our lives recharged still by kisses
until tomorrow's now.
remember not the hungry times
else we should both forget
young love still lies in dormant vines
ere that first day we met.
