Forever does not last

Moonlight was my guide
As the dark consumed my heart
I found hope with you
And then I lost it all
It started as healing and mending
But left more scars
Your lies were so many
I can count them like the stars
I stood and waited where the rains were too fast
I forgot to move and walk
Forgot forever does not last
You played with me and my words
I feel empty inside
And yet it all hurts
I breathe in the air feeling like I died
Love from me is no less now that you have left
You will never return
And maybe that is the truth I need to accept.
