Forever

"Forever," you say
That word holds more than you know
It requires a certain pay
One of mourning and tears

"Forever," you say
Do you know what that means?
It grows bigger every day
With it, grows your fears

"Forever," you say
This word requires a lot
Keep all feelings at bay
Or they will trample your heart

Forever, more than a word
So easy to promise
Yet so hard to keep
And even if you're honest,
This word will cause you to weep

So heed my warning,
Because I know
Forever is deeper than it seems
So say what you mean.
