Forever

I used to carry the weight of forever The doomed word attached to all my woes My bad hair would not grow out My zits stuck to my cheeks My critics' words stretched out In their awkward moments My ugliness captured on photographs Until forever got shredded into pieces The haircut and pimples gone The pictures tucked away in a closet The butterfly forgetting Its caterpillar days
