Foretold

Ingratitude for Mother Nature's gifts and our desire to live with greatest ease have caused strange outcomes; now our planet shifts climatically by frightening degrees. With dwindling faith, I've watched as humankind continues recklessly upon Time's path, careening or half-stumbling as if blind to what's to come when we receive Earth's wrath. We're led by fools and thieves who do not lead with vision. All around, inequity abounds as love is killed by war and greed. This planet's final hours I think I see. . . Our fate's foretold. An unforgiving earth by burning will be purged for its rebirth. “Please Try to Go Beyond Earth Hour” Here is my tip in poetry form: When out and about, take the shortest route. Run your errands all on the same day. A tip - move those hips! Cut down on your trips in your car, and save gas that way!

"We're led by fools and thieves who do not lead / with vision. All around, inequity" - these words are even more true today. Love your tip about reducing car trips and moving our hips more!

That is a powerful piece, Andrea! Very emotional, excellent job. Thanks for the comment on 3:00pm Departure I love the sight of geese flying in formation! Caught sight of these two formations while on the bus...a glance at my watch just as we were leaving, 3:00 pm... knew I had the title! My only regret, I didn't get to hear them honking:)

So well penned, Andrea and so true! We have to blame firstly all politicians who are not able to withstand the pressure of shameless industries! Thank you for posting this Sonnett! Thank you also for your friendly comments. Yo've asked my if my poem Babij Yar was a translation of Jevtushenko's original poem. No, it is not. I wrote my poem Babij Yar when I remembered Jevtushenko's and the gruel incidents at that place. Have a great Sunday! Love, Gert

Grim Reaper stuff. I can't help but agree - something's gotta give. Our values are upside down and rebellion by the young seems evident. ANGER! Love, Dave

Drea, you love nature and if we can all be like you it will be good out there. it is only that as people we want to satisfy ourselfs and then we tend to forget that nature needs to be preserved, actualy there can not be life without nature..........
