Forcing Myself To Clean

Promised myself I could paint for two hours
Before I would force myself to clean an hour
I painted for two hours, then the alarm went off.
I cleaned for twenty-six minutes
It seemed like twenty-six days
I have spent the past forty minutes writing poems.
I am so glad this was cleaning time, not painting time.

So funny. So endearing. Cleaning time is, however, a great time to think about things to write. I have a cleaning lady, thank goodness, or my house would be a wreck.

We had cleaning ladies; they were persnickety and always complained "I don't know where to start" - they didn't have to tell us. We figured it out.
