Forbidden Love

There’s moonlight falling on the ground
The sound of silence all around
Cannot control my thoughts in flight
As we embrace I hold you tight
Impassioned hearts both beat and race
You tremble now as face to face
I feel your breath on frozen cheek
And yet we dare not even speak
As tears now fill the eyes and fall
Inside we hear the parting call
It’s time for us to say goodbye
We can’t go on living a lie
The stars are witness from above
                                   We must resist forbidden love.

Who Says the party's over!?! To hell with that! In my playin' days we had a name for guys n' gals with big mouths, and snitches get stitches! HA. cool simple rhyme , well put together and neat. Often the best poems are those written with short, concise terms. I can diG a good story about O.P.P... the P.G. version of that acronym is Other People's PROPERTY. Fill in the final P. with either of the gender appropriate P words for the R Rated O.P.P.

Right you are:) It often does people good to move on and start afresh. Then, once a decision is taken, one has to stick to it, even if sweet words try to persuade you otherwise!! cu // paul

Dear Paul, It seems that the "forbidden love" makes passion even greater. Saying farewell is always hard, but surely "We can't go on living a lie." Beautifully written, my friend. Wishing you success in the contest. Love, Carolyn
