For Your Love

Show me the love
Heal my pain
Stop the hurting
Don’t complain
Love me doctor
Like a child
Cancer be damned
I’ll dance all night
I don’t need my hair
I don’t need silly pride
All I need is love
And to feel it inside
I can live with the chemo
I can take what’s outside
But I can’t live without you
By my side.
Love me or hate me
Make up your mind
I’m living in a moment
A spectrum in time
Bye now my love
They’re putting me under
I’ll be back in time
Or in eternity I will float
But I will not sink
In this leaky old boat
Till death do us part
I’ll paddle toward light
With both oars in the water
Holding you tight

Bittersweet acceptance of death. Such a moving poem with beautiful ending.

Yes, my friend, that is me performing for the first time on the guitar. It was hellah nerve-wrecking but accomplishing and fun. Music and poetry go hand in hand I'd say. Now about this poem, we all need that love - we all feel empty without it. Because as you have expressed love truly does heal the pain we feel. I've lost too many to cancer, but I'm sure they died happy, knowing that all around them love was there. And love shall remain. Kay, enough of my mushiness. LOVE this one. Always, Laura

Sorry to hear about all you have lost to cancer, but happy to hear you are performing. It get's easier each time you do it. I have played thousands of gigs (playing the drums) and a few on guitar. Once you realize that most people are just in awe of the fact that you can play an instrument you are half way there. Keep it up. It's food for the soul! ~ Kilmer

It's easy to love someone who is sick, but hard to realize that the cure may be death. And that alos deserves love. !Kilmer

You're breaking my heart, Kilmer. To experience it; to watch it. Love is all.
