"All honor and blessing, with angels above, and thanks never ceasing for infinite love"
~~ Charles Wesley (lines from the hymn "Ye Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim") My heart is full, in you I live, for thou, my Lord hast died for me. My thanks I sing, with breath you give, for your infinite love! No condemnation now I fear, without your blood, I'm dead in sin. Your name I laud and hold most dear, for your infinite love! May I, of godly attitude, with the angelic host proclaim an offering of gratitude for your infinite love! Your goodness shown in all your ways; you grant forgiveness, grace, and hope. To you I yield my utmost praise for your infinite love!

Did they use all his hymns in your church when you were young? I knew very few of them when I was researching his songs.

Yes, we sang many Wesley hymns but certainly not all his, he wrote over 6,000! He and Isaac Watts are considered the two greatest hymn writers in the English language.

My mom was methodist but left it for the "true" church. hmmm. When we die, we will know if she did the right thing or not.

Small world... I grew up Methodist too. Charles Wesley's brother John was the founder of the Methodist church. I imagine you mom knows some of his hymns!

I'm ashamed to say I did not know who this historical figure was until I googled it just now. Guess I will have to search his famous hymns and pay tribute to him that way. I hope he wrote the one which is my favorite! You did this very well, John, and I thank you for the fave.

Thanks for the kind words, Andrea. You'll probably found out as soon as you googled him that he wrote "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" and "Christ the Lord is Risen Today", among the most famous Christmas and Easter hymns. I look forward to reading your tribute, my friend.
