For Your Eyes

FOR YOUR EYES I wanted to bring you Something from my bike-ride But couldn’t find a rock That was shiny enough For your eyes. There were no flowers Bright enough For your eyes. Not a sight scenic enough Nor feather white enough For your eyes. For your eyes are rivers To your soul and I am A lonely traveler Making my way home. So, what I’m asking is this, I’ve come empty-handed, Will you still take me in?

Hello Phil, Thanks for commenting recently on one of the co-written poems that Liam McDaid and I worked on together. About "For Your Eyes," I found your free verse write here to be very interesting indeed!! The metaphor you used and developed in this write is fabulous. I enjoyed very much the imagery of this write. Excellent Work!! A SEVEN!! Cheers and Best, Gary
