For Time Went Away and Left Me

I wandered through the empty streets
Where once I thought my life complete
And on our street corner I saw you again
Doing what you always did when
The sun would shine down on me
And I held my head up so carefree

Now the streets are empty only
And the houses are full of strangers I see
For time went away and left me
When my dreams of yesterday were so free
And they floated away on the wind up high
And I was left to ponder with my only friend the sky.
