For Those Who Are Lost
These recent days souls are flying to heaven, bewildered and lonely;
How long does it take to get to heaven?
For whom is it quicker?
Those that welcome the journey with open arms
Or those on whom death has arrived with unexpected alarm
still crying out for someone to hold their hand
To reach out and anchor them to land?
Still not knowing .. where they are going .. strangers we will never see
Lost children-husbands-fathers-wives and mothers
Strangers we will never know,
But in this moment they are one of us..
Do we all reach out to a god we do not understand
In our moment of fear
or want to know
At this time of passing to wherever we go.
They are one of us.
We all can pray, call it wishing if you need,
And send yearning love to follow them above.
