For the Sweet Purity of Your Loving Memory
sick and bedridden,
your spirit still shines
you share stories of your
life's experiences....and i
am glad to listen
if i could have had even a tenth
of your experiences, i would be a
professional storyteller who owned
a black cadillac and black suitcase
set
your faith is your strength
your smile is your medicine
your wisdom is your escape
a listening ear is your source
of reason
many just nod their head
many just shrug their shoulders
many just roll their eyes like 'yeah whatever'
i choose to take the philosophical endoskeleton
of your anecdotes in and apply them all to my
life so that through your influence i may also
grow in continuum
well and full of life, your memory will always continue
to breathe in me and through me....i pour water on this
fertile ground for the sweet purity of your loving memory
