For the Love of the Ocean Lover
I trembled. Not in fear but excitement.
Squishing my toes into the cold soft sand I focus my energy on her.
Her miniature waves ripple towards me, almost reaching my invisible toes but never quite touching; constrained by her daily laws from the moon and the sun.
Her waves retreat shyly into her deepest depths with an apology for the disturbance.
I take a cautious step forward, my arms quivering from the slight chill in the salty air.
Another firm and deliberate step grants me access into her world until finally my hips are hidden in the shimmering glass.
A hint of gold appears as the sun creeps up from behind the horizon.
I breathe in deeply, close my eyes and plunge into icy darkness.
My eyes are opened and I see.
