For the Love of October
Farewell summer
you tested my patience
With your relentless heat
I welcome October
with open arms
Wishing the month
be kindly
Torpid heat gone
Now unsullied air makes
each breath a pure delight
Autumnal change
is all around
Colours of Fall captivate
Even as trees
divest themselves
of leaves
We walk tall
in knowledge
October is forerunner
of winter purity
As the year rotates
with God-given change
October
