FOR T B

They say your last word was "Goodbye!"
Nailed high on a cross they call heroin
You had been straight for a while

The needle just a sideways glance into hell
Just 28 with so much more music but
it's silenced now

You left 8 or 9 albums behind you
And now you've been forgotten
Just a fragment of unforgiving time

They say your last word was "Goodbye"
An uncaring needle waiting on a dresser
a tv muted low, the last fix, the last high

Just another crucified being on the
shores of desolation

So poignant. I cried reading it. Don't know why I can't place 'TB,' however. All I can think of: Hendrix and Jim Morrison of the Doors.

Tim Buckley/ He placed one lp in the top 200 but remained in obscurity until his death at 28. His music is an mix of blues folk and jazz/ not commercial at all but I have all of his stuff.
