For Richie

I was too drunk to remember When I shouldn't have been, And I was told you were dying Cause you drank too much For so many years I was too drunk to acknowledge That I shouldn't have been, When you needed me most Because you drank too much For so many years I was too drunk to admonish you But I shouldn't have been, When you stopped fighting Cause you drank too much For so many years I was too drunk to forgive you As I shouldn't have been, For not calling me Because you drank too much For so many years, I was too drunk to help you But I needed to be, Cause we pushed the edge over And we drank too much For so many years
