For One Day

For one day it was cold
A clear memory of wind and ice

For one day it was fear
Dreading if I'd survive

For one day it was clear
Blue skies with birds in flight

For one day it was tears
Who cares if I’m alive?

For one day it was pain
Thunder deep in my mind

For one day it was mist
No clear path could I find

For one day it was here
Standing right in front of my eyes

For one day love was near
A chance for me to change my life

For one day courage flowed
Like a river running wild

For one day I was bold
I had to be part of your life

For one day I took hold
of my heart
and gave it to you my wife.
