For My Mother

For My Mother

Finely tuned in that umbilical cord,
A had a form-decoy;
Cried out to tell the story untold
Of life, a little ‘bundle of joy’.

In all her warm shields
Cloistered me when I’m bare,
Every drop of tear I shed
Sucked by her care.

When I closed my eyes,
She kept open,
Lost in her prayers for us,
Whereas her comforts were stolen.

Tied in that umbilical cord
The moan still hums
She had done all she could afford
To make all fare terms.

Mother of mine
My love benign,
Your love has so strong a let
I am beaten by it, am, tiny, tiny yet.
