For Michael From Robert - Poem For Michael Jackson

You were born a baby super star
Exploding in magical voice and songs
Love of humanity glowing in your eyes
Some not understanding the greatness

I did Michael,
Hearing and seeing the compassion
Yet still they could not understand
Many fearing black angel turning to white

A man child adoring the children around you
Intentions only of sweetness and caring
For to harm a child would have surely killed you
Wanting only happiness and security for them

And then there was your stage presence
Awesome way beyond unbelievable
Dance steps making an astonished Astair
Always your idol Michael, now Fred yours

That voice that thrilled millions
Those words of truth so powerful
Changing a world so delicately
Yet with such powerful intimacy

You were a gift to earth Michael
The music spinning this planet
Lasting until the final turn
When we join you within forever

(written July 3, 2009, shortly after Michael's death, with love and adoration)
