For Michael

What's in your head?
We know no more
no more do we laugh or cry
or smile together,
no more do we share our dreams and fears;
you've gone someplace that's not here
somewhere I cannot be
you hide behind empty eyes
or maybe you play under our tree
while bears and dolls and soldiers
drink tea
maybe you remembered to bring me
but maybe not,
maybe you play alone
behind those black hole eyes
everything gets sucked in
but nothing ever
comes
out
