For John

You guided me through a lonely childhood
With music, laughter, and love.

You taught me to believe anything was possible
If I just closed my eyes and imagined.

You taught me that it didn't matter what others thought
As long as I believed in myself.

You kept me company during the dark times
When I felt alone and afraid.

You saved my life.

I wish I could have saved yours.
