For I Am

FOR I AM AN ADDICT.
Addicted to addiction,
Control over nothing but torment,
Face myself,
Before I can face others…
FOR I AM AN ADDICT.
Addicted to the present,
Ignoring the past,
Neglecting the future,
Unaware of the dangers ahead,
I shake hands with death,
FOR I AM AN ADDICT.
With new found glory,
Blessed to be,
Me, myself, and I,
Surrounded by others like I,
Myself and me!
FOR I AM AN ADDICT.
Recovering form the past,
Thanking God for the present,
And praying for the future,
Faith drives me,
With God’s cruise control,
I never underestimate,
The power of my addiction,
The power to return…
FOR I AM STILL AN ADDICT.
