For Granted
The wave of the soft wind blowing whispering in my ear
I stop to listen as the birds singing guide me near
As I walk on a carpet of green and my feet touch
A pool of rain I no longer feel pain
I reach to the heavenly sky’s
For some sort of sign to guide me on my way
As I stumble and fall lost in front of a big and tall
Woody plant I look up to see a bright light in front of me
Its yellow rays has turn the clouds away
As I continue my trip on this wide and open road
I start to see the splendor of living things
How for granted we take
The wind the birds the grass the rain the sky the trees the sun
If going green means to save wild life and preserve nature
shouldn’t we after all god gave this to us on barrow time
On earth as I look around me on this out side world
Where the love grows cold and little know about
Our oceans Turing red as we turn blind at what’s next
We are set on moving fast and going no where
As I stop and stare I shed a tear for greener years
