~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Patriarch, Dwight McIntosh Friendly and kind, always a smile Filled with joy, oh my gosh – Love so alive, love that’s still in style Patriarch, the man of the house Never doubting his family’s grace Lifting spirits with love that would rouse Hearts and souls, - adoring his embrace Patriarch, guiding with a strong hand Here is someone that shined his light Wherever he was, there was no sinking sand He knew about giving – that was Dwight Patriarch, always making the heart glow With sincere affection, a sureness inside When I got to know him, a few years ago I discovered a friend in whom I could confide Patriarch, the one who could make hearts melt He was a warmth, so easy to be around There are so many who know love so heartfelt Because of this man who loved the campground Patriarch, someone who shared our lives Making us laugh and enjoy our time on earth Still in the hearts of those whose love survives The loss of father, brother, friend who is worth – Much more than words can say in a poem, Much more than hearts can voice, unspoken Are the feelings, the joys and pains, that show him, The man who has left so many heartbroken… What he is seeing now - is more beautiful than we know Only those who’ve seen it, could possibly portray The music he’s hearing, the glory that must flow Over the soul who finally meets Him to whom we pray Patriarch, the man who loved his family so He’s gone to be with Jesus, and left heart’s weeping But, there is no doubt he’s no longer feeling low Glad to have known this man who the Father is now keeping! God blessed every heart who knew him as friend There is no doubt of the love he felt, Because of him, many found a real godsend Someone who showed us how kindness can melt Dwight McIntosh was more than just a patriarch He was more than a father, brother or friend He was a light in the darkest night, a dazzling spark Revealing the love that comes from above – love that will never end!
“Much more than words can express, but you’ve done it in eloquence. May his soul rest in peace and love. Sending you and your family all the strength right now, that you need. Im so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a beautiful soul, you’ve described here so poetically.
Sweet tribute to you in law Regina. As you know inlaws can sometimes be outlaws. Glad this wasn't the case for you. Nice to know he had the support of a godly daughter in law
