A silent prayer was spoken – A gentle life grew dim. So many hearts were broken – As you hurried home to Him. A song, a word, reflecting – Your kindness and your light. God will forever be protecting – Love that made you so right. A hope that we’ll see you soon – Beyond the moonlit skies, Where believers hearts will swoon – As mourners weep and agonize. A life you lived, so true – To Jesus, the way, truth and life. We’ll forever admire you, The man who understood His sacrifice. A heart who will always be missed – Preacher, father and friend, I know Jesus’ face you have kissed – And on His grace we can all depend. A moment and you were gone – But, we all know where you are! You were someone we could count on – But now you’re like the morning star. A longing for you we all know – But, today, we’re praising God’s Son, Because it’s to Him we owe – Our soul - when this race is won. A time comes for each of us to go – Be it sooner or later, All that matters is who we know – And, I’m sure you knew the Creator! I’m thankful that I came to know you– I’ll always remember your love. You helped so many to break through – As you sent prayers to heaven above. Cecil Hensley was more than a preacher. He was more than a father and friend. He was the most beautiful teacher – And he taught us to love without end!

Oh Regina, how beautiful a tribute to this man of God that you have written of. It is such a contrast isn't it? The believer who flies home to the Lord, and though we know this, here on earth their is such mourning and deep loss until we know the Lord reunites us in heaven. May our Lord comfort you and his his congregation and family.
