For Bolt

All hail, new hero, hail our legend of the world
Before you in homage, the have flags unfurled.
Great Olympian, our lightning flashing to inspire -
Young men in hills and hovels shivering still,
Who fear life can offer nothing from earth higher -
Tell them talent holds faith with human will
And show them what hard work made out of you
The sweat must come before the glory into view.

What joyous cool, what bravado of speed glinting
Your sceptered form came to challenge unflinching
Show them that this nation hungers for healing
Where great feats are done, teach them to unite
Again, love for the lovely pure love outpouring
Trust with the satisfied is lamp enough for night.
O how proud you wear the national atmosphere
I thank God in you, thank you for moments rare.
