For a moment

For a moment I dreamt you were mine
You held me close, and tight
You whispered softly in my ear
We held hands and each other hearts

For a moment I thought you could be mine
We shared desires and dreams
We indulged in fantasies and flirting
We slid into "I miss and want to kiss you"

For a moment I thought you were mine
And then reality crept in, slowly and then all at once
Like the first ray of light at dawn, suddenly it was here
And the dream ended and I awoke
And I remembered you weren't mine
