Footsteps

Waiting for the music of your footsteps
as you reach the top of my stairs
to apartment two twenty five
waiting for that surprise knock
yet very much anticipated knock
only from the depths of you

My home has been cleaner than usual nowadays
ever since we started talking
it seems my mind is riding on the high clouds of this thing
it seems my heart has a new flower growing in it
it's only blooming spring in there

The once heartbreak is surrounded by steel
It's all forgotten yet still there, unfelt

as I lay down here me and my lonely pillow
me and my wild fantasies
i fear that this thing may just be another daydream
yet my ears stay wide alert waiting for that tune
but dear, if you wish too, you can also kick that door open
and sweep me off my feet
to paradise
