Footprints We once left footprints in the sand while strolling slowly hand in hand with sun rays beaming gently down enjoying warmth along the strand. Together we were always found, our footprints side by side abound in parallel concentric lines that traced our love upon the ground. But time and tide erased these signs; the footprints which our love defined have faded like an ancient art, and bright sunlight no longer shines. The embers burning at the start have gone with flames they did impart; you cast it sadly on the sand and left your footprints on my heart. June 3, 2021

This is beautiful, tender and emotional, all at the same time. Footprints were never meant to last in the sand, however- love will always touch the heart. Your thoughts caress softly around me, my dear sweet friend. Hugs, Brandy

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and comments, Brandy, sometimes it seems that love wasn’t meant to last either. But in those rare cases that it was meant to be, love lasts forever. Hugs, John

Hi John. Your final line is gut wrenching. Scars on our hearts are like footprints of a lost love.
