Footprint In the Sand

My bare feet walk along the sand, My footprints left behind I smell the soft and salty air And wander in my mind A rock I see to sit upon A seat within a stone There is no one here but myself But I am not alone. The gentle waters kiss my feet And once again recede I feel a sweet contentment That feels an aching need I close my eyes and I picture you Oh, it seems like so long ago But I can hear your gentle voice Within the tidal flow. If ever I am lonely And I need to feel you near I will return here again to find you I know that you're waiting here All I have to do is close my eyes And feel you caress and kiss my hand I open my eyes and look down And that is when I see two pairs of footprints in the sand!
