Foot Prints In the Sand
She left her foot prints on
The golden sands of time
The promise she had given him
Was never ever breached
Her skin ever soft and like a peach
As she lay in her golden casket
Words tumbled from his speech
Echoed through his head
“Love you! Love you! Love you!
I stood in fame but you were the flame
I was the edifice but you were the sacrifice
Mine were the hands that worked but yours were the ones that healed
To you I often put the blame but you always covered my shame
I taught to live but you taught to give
Darling leave your foot prints for me to follow”
