Foolish Coward Lei

I follow the gray mist shadow
awaiting dawn, still fray meadow.

Draught night creaks, cries, and laughter flow,
amber teardrops stowed trickled slow.

Within unsteady mortal soul
left breathless, speechless no control.

Foolish and a coward betray
to hear pained wounded donkey bray.

A very deep write, Eve. Very well written with a touch of sadness spiked in. Congratulations on your win! Hugs Charlie

I like how you ended with the donkey wounded, it goes so well with the title and theme. I don't see how you would think yours was wrong, Eve. You used same rhyming pattern as I did. I kept my lines all together instead of separating into the couplets, so I am hoping THAT does not count against me!

Amazingly done, not easily read in one sitting, Eve.
