Foolish Adsurdities

I am thoroughly disgusted by foolish absurdities From morons who wallow in conspiracy theories Who try, indeed, to convince us the earth is flat, And NASA didn’t land on the moon, think of that! They say there was no such thing as a Holocaust, Spewing out their hot gas like odious exhaust. Fools run around stirring up dissent and distrust While seeking publicity, leaving verity in the dust, Bad enough they circulate the most pernicious lie Incredible how many folks complex stupidities buy. We have thousands of weak-minded individuals Who, in ignorance, think they are intellectuals! I ask, what is to be gained by promoting discord, How much of this gross foolishness can we afford? Isn’t it time we learn to accept facts and raw truth? For the sake of our future; for the sake of our youth.

They are certainly not good role models for our children. "Fools run around stirring up dissent and distrust While seeking publicity, leaving verity in the dust," And sadly they are often parents.

Yes indeed. I can remember a time when we did not even hear such garbage that is out there today.

As for Armstrong and crew landing on the moon in the summer of 1969, the older I get, the more I read, and the more I look at the event with a view from 'the other side of the world,' the more I think that there's a great deal to that 'conspiracy theory.' Sorry to disappoint. ~ Moron

Having lived on Merritt Island during the heyday of NASA and having known many people who worked on the project, I have no time for this stupid conspiracy theory. I've heard and read all the conspiracy stuff, and, trust me, it happened...no matter what you are reading or hearing, gw. Not disappointed...surprised.

I just found this poem, Milton. It's so good and needs to be read by all. My eldest son, on Dean's list in college, believes a lot of this nonsense. The main reason is that's all these people want to hear. If we lose house and senate--goodbye democracy.

Ah, Ann, thanks for your thoughtful and insightful comment on my poem. It's really hard to believe that a college graduate can buy into these absurdities, but they do. I do fear for your country in the near future, Ann, but hopefully there are enough level heads left to prevail.
