Fool of Love

I won't be fooled anymore,
I gave to you love that you didn't restore.
But in my heart full of hope
I gave you the benefit of doubt that we'd cope.

But your roaming eyes wandered around
In others you craved more
Than the love we together had found.

So saddly our lives
that had been previously shared
You had now proven to me
That you no longer cared.

So with sadness and woe
Our lives together departed.
And my heart was left in ruin
From the loveaffairs that you started.

So please leave me to be
And go on your way
I hope in all future love quests
You've learnt not to stray.

For what we once shared
Was a very rare find.
But by lusting in others
Two hearts were no longer entwined.

I don't hold any grudges
For I've learnt a lot from our past.
And I've been taught many a lesson in life
From the past stone's in life cast.

So my farewell isn't one of regret
For I'll always cherish the love
Once in our hearts that was set.
So be on your way
And I hope a friendship between us sustains
Although my hearts eternally scarred
But my strengths & willpower remains.
