Fond Memories
I lay cold and alone in complete and utter darkness
Never again to feel the sunlight upon my face
Alone yet never again lonely, no laughter, no tears, no more fears
Gone is the longing for companionship, the burden of love, nor hatred
Did I wish this? Is this bliss? Have I done this to myself? Or has life dealt me a cruel blow? Unable to right certain wrongs
Gone are the troubles we all must face, but, gone too are the joys
Perhaps not so many fond memories, but at least a few.
Surely, a few...
