Folly of a Lonely Man

Shall I dare to fall in love again? Shall I dare to walk away? Shall I dare to leave the world behind, Or shall I bravely stay? But for the staying, am I wiser, Or one deprived of wit? Shall I dare to fall in love again, And every tear forget? One valiant in the face of fear, Or maybe only this— The folly of a lonely man, Who dreams of but a kiss.

There is a sing-song cadence to this that makes me wonder is this what iambic pentameter is? And I am thinking maybe it is. Wow! I never understood it before, but this poem HAS it! Great job!

And I’m not entirely sure either. Truth is, I dislike having to label a poem, this, or that. I studied poems in college; now, I would rather just read them :)
