Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart

Father Time has brought us safely thus far
And our future is not tied to some distant star.
We’ve always had each other’s arms
That kept us together and safe from all harm.

Yet, all our yesterdays now stand alone.
And we know that tomorrow is not cast in stone,
Where once we saw happiness, now there is pain
It seems memories and heartaches are all that remain.

So, when life seems the darkest and troubles appear
And all the world’s dangers, alarmingly near,
Remember our love - let it play its part
And don’t be afraid to follow your heart.

Jesz Ika May 14, 2014 at 6:45 PM I love every part of it. It gives me hope, because I can be really negative at times. Thanks for sharing. We often make the mistake of just viewing words as mere words but even in-between the silences, the punctuations , especially with poetry between the rhymes, between the lines, we read more feeling, greater meaning. That's quite something- when we lose direction we often forget to just not over-think things and follow the heart. We forget that love conquers all and that the heart is the house of love.
