Lavender and violet shadows
Whisper across my thoughts
Praying for a poem to compose
From laughing, loving spots
Delicate, delightful dreams
Fall softly on my heart
Pouring from the cool streams
With affection to impart
Singing to the silent reflections
Alive inside the twinkling
Thinking of the quiet recollections
Bursting from the gentle inkling
Blushing grace like a soft thanks
Generosity filled with calm
Blesses those who fill in the blanks
With feelings almost like a psalm
Light floods the sincere pleasure
Of those who know true love
Breathed out like a unspoken treasure
Falling lightly in drops from above
Shades of faith and serenity
Sooth away my doubt and fear
Flowing across my soul’s identity
Embracing my life so very sincere
Reality calls on my dreams to fade
As the lingering wish calls faintly
Reminding me of how often I’ve prayed
For this chance to prove love saintly
Will I leave the flickers of hope behind
As I journey down tomorrow’s path
Or will I simply be quick to remind
That to leave my dreams would bring wrath
I’ll walk the path of courage and hope
That comes when you follow your heart
So sure that God will help me to cope
If my struggles were to finally start
Dreams today, dreams tomorrow
I long for the day I can say
Dreams alive, dreams to borrow
This is the love for which I pray
