Follow the Wind Piper

Follow the Wind Piper Follow the wind piper Chase sprightly spring Capricious and fickle Hide from the sun All the changes approaching Trumpet the daffodils Bright yellow sunlight The robin returning Soft doves cooing Wrap in fragrance Lilacs and roses No more the scent Of morning snow Touch each tree bud, Call them out, With touch so gentle Into green blooming. Run after clouds Playfully herding them Into April showers Soft rain. Dash through cities Down busy streets Announce in song The seasonal change Dance through meadows Fields waking up Dressed in bright flowers Of ev’ry color. Smile on the season, Free sometimes wild, Hope born of winter Now feel its joy. Follow the wind piper!

Sam, I just love all the action words that start each stanza (chase, trumpet, wrap, touch, etc.) I feel in it. Doing what the wind is doing. This has a playful, color-filled darting, smiling, dancing vibe to it. Perfect for early spring. And again that signature of yours: a hope-filled ending. Love it! Congrats for #1! ~ John

I guess I can't help myself John. Much as I love little Eyore, I don't seem to be able to stay in a gloomy place very long - especially not in spring - a playful season! Thank you for all of your feedback and noticing the "action" verbs and all the colors. Did a little re-edit. I think it made it stronger. If you look at the laments in the Psalms, they always end with a prayer of confidence - except one! Thank you for your congratulations.

Hi Tom! Thank you for your congratulations. It seems to me that spring just seems to be able to put a smile on our faces and a little extra bounce in our steps - hope on two feet. Have a good day! Stay well. Over Fork Over!

Chase sprightly spring Capricious and fickle. What a delight this was to read. You brought a little sunlight into my day. And they say Hope always springs anew. Perhaps Spring will bring with it, Hope! Congratulations on your win. JC Hawkens
