- Fog and Mystery -

FOG AND MYSTERY
(on the last day of the year 2021)

There is something scary and magical about fog

erases the boundaries of the landscape

and we choose to see what we want to see

                                          In this woolly silence

just waiting to see elves and trolls

a spirit mood, creatures and forces

in the world that no human has actually seen

This poem echoes our experiences during our holiday in one of South Africa's most beautiful places, Nottingham District in the Midlands of Kwazulu Natal. Misty throughout the two weeks we were there. Simply breath taking, your poem and our holiday. Hope your Christmas was blessed and 2022 will bring you happiness and health. Hugs and love, Jennifer.

There are many lakes where I live. During the winter the fog can be quite heavy before the sun comes up. I find it eerily fascinating. One of my poems was inspired by the fog as it was lifting from the canals in a local tourist area. I was also involved in a car accident when I was young (I wasn't driving). 9 multi car accidents happened around 2:00am along a short stretch of highway due to heavy fog and a forest fire. It was a strange sensation standing in the fog listening to the ambulances.

Hello Sunshine Smile, when i see someone walking in the fog, I see them floating in the air, Because i can not see their feet. Hugs. Happy New Year. Hugs.

It certainly erases boundaries and fades landscapes---and we see what we see. A lovely poem to close out the year, Anne-Lise. My very best to you for the new year.

Anne-Lise, the shot threw off a vague sense, as if captured it in an enchanting spot. It's a beautiful composition that's delightful, just as your lovely words are.

Oh, I am in total agreement with you, Anne-Lise. Even before I read your lines, I thought the photo gave off the mystical vibe of an enchanted place.
