Fog
Cold autumnal morning,
Winter warning sounds around
As fog seeks to enter
And smother the mind
From seeing the future
Keeping you blind;
Fog on the river,
Fog on the road,
Foot off the gas, fog on the grass;
This seeping damp
Dressed as clouds
Lowering the light
Lowering the sounds
Fog seeps into every place
Attempting to drown
The unaware;
Fog signals cold in the atmosphere
With everywhere enveloped in damp air;
Some love the fog
As it covers a lot of fears
With a cloud that disappears
The moment the sun begins to shine;
Love the fog,
It gives you time to think,
Time for reorientation, to find your place,
To discover your station;
Fog covers a crime, a love, a time to hide,
As life goes on around you;
When it lifts
Time returns to you
And fog fills your mind
To excuse your time lost in the fog.
