Flying With Crows

I lived that story of loneness
I wrote every single line
I stole that page of bitterness
But it was the blind leading the blind
And sometimes I thought I saw happiness
But in a flash it disappeared
And I was back into loneliness
With just a cigarette and a beer
I even had my best dear friend
To read between those lines
But each one led me back to the bar
With another cold beer filled stein
It seems my life is story in print
With me being editor in chief
That’s why I’m looking for a writer
That can make my life retreat
If only I could blink my eyes
And be back in those yesterdays
Before I took my first plunge
Into these forbidden ways
But there’s no chance, nope none for me
Since I’ve lived life like I chose
No flying high with bold eagles again
I’m stuck with these earthly crows
