Flying Leaves
We never know how nature will surprise us…what she has in store
what sights she may put on display…that we haven’t seen before.
One thing’s for certain…we need to be observant…because she always finds a way
to show us something extraordinary… something different every day.
Yesterday was a blustery Autumn day in the mountains…
and with that strong wind nature was supplying
the leaves…once they left the trees…weren’t falling…they were flying.
Normally in Autumn in the mountains…with leaves of color all around
we sit or stand on our porch…watching…as those leaves cascade softly to the ground.
But yesterday as we watched the leaves happily floating by…
they were flying up instead of down as they soared across the sky.
It seemed to us these leaves were smiling…
holding their tips high up in the air…
riding the roller coaster wind
enjoying the moment…without a care
We hurried onto the porch and immediately began photographing….
and as the leaves flew up in front of us…we are sure we heard them laughing.
For leaves that are usually more reserved…their excitement they couldn’t hide…
It was wonderful for us to see…how much they enjoyed the ride.
It is a delight to watch the leaves fall….cascading softly from the sky
and even more delightful to watch…when nature allows her leaves to fly.
Yes… yesterday was another surprising day in the mountains for us…
standing on the porch…with the forest all around…
as we watched the colorful leaves of Autumn…
falling up…instead of down.
