Flying High

FLYING HIGH Sometimes when we are flying so high up in the air, The devil will shoot at us and we fall into despair. It may be doubts or trials, it may be inward pain, It may be some close loved one who’s put us under strain. It may be a sad failure--a sin that we commit, And we are so downhearted we can’t get over it. It may be our health failing, or finances in reverse, We think things will get better; instead they just get worse. Or when we hear a message so stern from God’s own man, We sit there and we struggle with what might be His plan. But I know why Satan shoots us--it’s simple just to see: He doesn’t want us flying and serving faithfully! He has a host of lost ones he wants to keep astray, So he will fight our efforts to win them to God’s way! He doesn’t bother fliers who stay down on the ground, For that is where he likes them--just feeling sad and down! But God wants us to mount up like eagles on their wings And see Him do His wonders, all His amazing things! Let’s keep on flying higher and not stay on the ground! There’s not much time to stay here and there’s lost ones to be found! Some day the trump will call us to our home in the sky, And our last trip will take us--yes, we’ll be flying high! Until that day, dear Christians, don’t let Satan clip your wings, But get up, come to Jesus, to Him your cares all bring!
