Fly

Fly

Two gulls sitting on some beach rock looking out to sea
I look at them and see freedom personified and what do they see in me
They see all the food they can ever eat and to rest in a warm sun beam
I see people struggling to make a living to buy forever increasing mean
Two animals living on the same earth but two perspectives doesn’t it seem
We have all forgotten that we are animals and to survive we must stay keen
Circumstances are too different to compare you say because of where you’ve been
But now everybody’s realising that we must move to places that the world has deemed
Some birds fly thousands of miles to make homes for their babies to live a life that’s supreme
So why can’t human beings do the same without prejudice or snide remarks to live in a world that’s changing like even the birds are aware and have seen
