Fluttering

Slight of movement
minute fluttering
flicker over my stomach;
as imagination takes
on passing butterfly's wings.
It's the beginning of one very new.
An early germinal stage,
the foundations of something
so much bigger to come....
Rudimentary hiccups
of one so slight.
Invisible behind my bump grows,
an immature being -
I've seen it
at scan stage.
Underdeveloped,
a miracle -
all manmade.
My future,
my hopes,
my dreams.
My child.
