Fluter's Music

Fluters Music

It was just getting dark when I thought I heard
The growling sound of the dark fluter

It’s not the music of familiar days
But the sound of night
That comes in waves

The fingers against the window glass
And many other fingers up and down the flute of nights flash

I closed my eyes and covered my ears
But the sound keeps drawing me so near

The dark fluter beckons to me
And in all my many comforting years
The sight and sound is what I have feared

It’s ragged it floats and grins and gloats
And all the time the melody becomes clear

Its time, I must follow the dark fluter to the end of tears.
