Flowers

Flowers - she knows will always die She never lets them see her cry. Unnatural smile and hot tea Obviously - she’s so happy Watering them when they aren’t dry Singing to them a lullaby More water, water; never dry Water, songs – never unhappy Flowers – she knows Loving too harshly – can’t deny The water is her secret lie Pretending she’s actually free Too proud and scared to yell her plea But can’t live without being high Flowers – she knows
