Notes About The Poem

THIS IS A REWRITE IMPROVED AND INSPIRED BY THE "C'EST LA VIE" CHALLENGE

FLOWERS

They had fought. He left without a word... ...while she was sleeping. She threw on the gown she had worn for him the night before, pushed off the china vase and blooms he had given her. She watched them fall in...s l o w...m o t i o n, listened to them crash to the floor... ...sat on the window sill, where the bouquet and container had been. She was alone but at least... ...she was the only flower.

Hi Maurice, Great job. Well done. I moved in slow motion with the spaces between and separations of the letters "slow motion." Nice dramatic effect. Nice clear crisp dramatic story too. I see you and I both employed the utilization of a vase in our poem entries. Interesting. You should have scored higher in this contest. Take it easy. Earl

Love your build up to the last line... so smoothly written. The flower in reference to the vase that was just broken. Did the man love the things he owned more than his wife? Your eloquence shines through here... wonderfully penned.
